LEARNING FROM THE PAST

As we grow and mature, we can appreciate and recognize how the past has helped shape our character, appreciate our lives, and learn from mistakes.

It is important to have enough humility and a broad perspective to face past experiences and turn them into data that helps us move forward and tackle future challenges more agilely.

However, the experience of our own life alone is not enough to learn from the past. If we only use our own experience, the result will be very biased, as we will not have other parameters to measure the experience. Therefore, it is important to absorb lived experiences from other people, listen to them or read them receptively, as this way we can have an anticipated and diversified emotional maturity. We can then use that experience as tools in our lives and the challenges ahead.

Human life is ephemeral, with an average lifespan of 80 years, so it is important to dedicate time to reading, regardless of what one wants to learn. Some people want to learn from history, others about financial topics, some related to personal development, while others simply enjoy novels.

The important thing is not to focus your energy on learning only about one topic, no matter how comfortable you are with it. By stepping out of your comfort zone, you will absorb information from other topics and thereby maximize your knowledge.

On the other hand, it is important and relevant to build relationships with older people, whether they are family, friends, or colleagues, as they will be the ones who can transmit experiences based on their life history that you have not yet experienced, or processes that you may never have the opportunity to know about in life.

That's why you must be a receptive person and dedicate time in your life to learning from the past. Through the stories of others, you can learn various life stories in a shorter period, which will help you become a well-rounded person in many aspects of your life. This will create a better version of yourself, and then you can share that same joy and experience with the people around you.

And so, without even realizing it, you will be leaving a footprint and a legacy for your friends, family, and for those fortunate enough, future generations."
